Robert Wedaa, Executive Chef + Founder

A California native, I was raised on the sun drenched beaches of Southern California & am still very active in that lifestyle today. Surfing, snow skiing & dirt biking are still my hobbies outside of the kitchen. From the slopes of Whistler to the green barrels of Hawaii, I have found inspiration for food in the great outdoors.


My culinary career started even before I knew it by my loving mother & father. Being around my mother in the kitchen, watching her incredible skills with pasta, poultry and meat, I started absorbing the skills that would later become my life’s work.  In the summers we would take advantage of California’s fresh produce. My four sisters and I would help my parents can everything from jams to veggies and then we'd enjoy these goodies all winter & spring long. 

Growing up around food, it was only natural that I started working in restaurants at a young age and after graduating culinary school in Santa Barbara I had great opportunities locally. I eventually left to expand my horizons as an executive chef with contracts in Pismo Beach, Cabo San Lucas and Maui, and those oceanside locals added their influence to my cooking.

Stefanie and I owned and operated our own restaurant and catering business in Maui for five years. The distance from family and friends became too great so we finally made the painful decision to come back to California. After returning I was fortunate enough to become the executive chef for the most high profile catering companies in Hollywood. Working with them and other top companies in Los Angeles we started building the connections we needed & Rockit Foods was born. The experiences and people I have met along the way have always influenced my foods. I hope that never changes. Our plate is always full with new projects, family & friends. We wish yours to be also!
